Tyrannosaurus Rex: The Iconic Monster
Tyrannosaurus Rex, or commonly known as T-Rex, is one of the largest and most famous carnivorous dinosaurs. It stands approximately 13ft tall and may have weighed around 7 tons. It is believed that T-Rex roamed in what is today the western part of North America. It is believed to have lived around 68 to 65 million years ago during late Cretaceous Period. T-Rex was known to have quite powerful arms, which suggests that it may have been quite efficient at killing its prey. It had large, sharp teeth for tearing up large chunks of meat.
Allosaurus: The Godfather of Dinosaur
Allosaurus is a large therapod dinosaur (related to the T-Rex) that lived during the late Jurassic Period (150 to 144 million years ago),that means they lived before T-Rex. It is believed to have been the largest predator of its time. It is estimated that Allosaurus could reach a size of 36ft in length and weighed around 4 tons. Allosaurus had sharp claws and believed to have been a powerful predator. They were known to have used their strong jaws to grab and hold their prey while they ate it.
T-Rex Tag Team: The Differences between the Two
Given that Tyrannosaurus Rex and Allosaurus lived on different times, there are quite a few differences between the two. Firstly, T-Rex was much larger than Allosaurus, standing at 13ft tall and weighing around 7 tons.
