Introduction to Unique Wulingyuan National Park

Unique Wulingyuan National Park is a majestic tourism destination located in Zhangjiajie City, in northern Hunan Province, China. It’s a breathtaking natural paradise of quartz sandstone peaks, canyons, valleys, and incredible views. It’s also home to the world-famous Avatar Hallelujah Mountains. A World Heritage Site

The parkhas has been awarded UNESCO World Heritage Site Status since 1992 due to its astonishingly rich and diverse environment of more than 3,000 sandstone pillars and peaks, massive canyons and gorges, and ancient forests. Covering an area of more than 26,000 hectares, it’s the largest national park in Asia.

From the Huangshi village in the park, visitors can get an incredible view of the world-famous Avatar Hallelujah Mountains, China’s highest peak at 1,261 meters tall. There are over 10 different canyons, many winding rivers and lakes, and unique rock formations, making Wulingyuan a paradise for photographers and hikers.

A unique part of the park is the Hundred Peaks Valley, which consists of a series of quartz sandstone peaks of varying sizes scattered along the Yellow Dragon River.

There are experienced guides that can accompany visitors on the guided climbing and rappelling sessions. They also provide all the necessary equipment like climbing shoes and protective gear. Caving requires at least two days of exploration and guidance, and can be done in the dry season from October to April.
